Healthcare Staffing Professionals needs Psychiatrists for Correctional facilities in California.The Psychiatrist will provide extensive psychiatric services or work in a review, evaluation, or consultative capacity.Position is for Independent Contractors (1099's) Pay Rate- Varies based on Location

Responsibilities
• Meet with patient for crisis interventions, face-to-face interviews• Conduct initial mental health evaluations including criminal, psychiatric, and substance abuse case history• Conduct clinically sound suicide risk evaluations• Participate in Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT) meetings• Document all care provided including face-to-face contacts and IDTT meetings• Monitor patient progress using Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan and Education (SOAPE) formatted progress notes• Perform mental status exam (MSE) in face-to-face clinical interviews• Examine prior mental health records, institutional chromos, probation reports, court records• Review, examine and diagnose psychiatric patients of all ages and patient records• Prescribe medication as deemed appropriate for treatment and utilize the Correctional Formulary or obtain non-formulary approval
Requirements
• Minimum of twelve (12) continuous months of experience performing similar services• 2-3 references• Must be able to speak, understand oral and written communication and write effectively in English
