Manages the construction process so that projects are completed on time and under budget.
As a construction project manager, you will…
Work independently and collaboratively in a demanding, fast-paced environment. Support Store Development and Operations goals by participating and contributing in planning and strategy meetings for the market. Develop and manage budgets consistent with timeline requirements for small to medium-scale new store development or renovation projects. Manage and monitor project schedules within budget guidelines, progress and costs to ensure projects are completed on time and effectively. Manage the construction phase of the development process. Project management experience managing multiple projects. Progressive experience managing a construction team in a multi-unit retail or restaurant environment. Basic Qualifications High School diploma or GED or 4 + years of US military experience Preferred: Bachelor's degree in facility or construction management, architecture, or business related field 7+ years of progressive experience in a role performing project management job functions for construction projects including permitting and approvals 5 + years of experience in a role delivering 15 or more concurrent projects in a retail or restaurant environment (QSR)7+ years of experience in a role bidding and negotiating for construction projects 5+ years of experience in a role performing financial analysis, budgeting and planning for construction projects 5 + years of experience using MS Outlook, MS Excel, and project or construction management program(s), such as MS Project, Primavera or Timberline systems Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities People Management: Ability to lead teams and partner development Comfortable communicating at all levels of the organization Comfortable providing coaching, feedback and recognition Construction representative performance discussions and reviews Project Management: Strong project management skills Ability to influence and meet project deliverables Ability to understand and work within a project budget Data Management: Ability to work within construction database, reporting and order management software Ability to interpret and make decisions based on data and reports Construction Knowledge: Strong knowledge of construction terms and concepts Full understanding of industry and construction best practices and standards Able to lead all construction activities in areas of responsibility Technical: Lead annual planning and store tours Annual capital plan Regular capital plan updates and forecasts Weekly project updates • Drawing review Project Budgets in Siren CRiM GC bidding and negotiation Manage LL Work Delivery of Possession LEED Documentation FAR Updates Punch list • Reconciliation Monthly RD Touch-base(s) Vendor / GC management Develop / maintain jurisdictional relationships Store Development Knowledge: Strategic planning experience Business acumen and ability to apply to store development planning Strong knowledge of Starbucks leasing requirements From free coffee to competitive pay, Starbucks is proud to offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to our eligible part-time and full-time partners. If you live in the greater Chicago or Dallas areas, we offer a flexible workplace thatallows forhybrid work where partners can work remotely upto two days per week. This position is also eligible for fully remote work with preference given to applicants located in major Midwest cities in Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, North & South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, and Arkansas, or even Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago or Denver.
