Job Summary This position provides business and administrative support to facilitate the planning and coordinating of activities of plumbing contract projects to ensure that the goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed schedule and budget. This is an entry level project management position that supports both Project Managers and/or Senior Project Managers. The goal for this position is to develop into a Project Manager within 3-5 years. As experience grows a Project Engineer may provide overall project management of smaller, less critical projects.
Job Responsibilities Assist project manager throughout the project from startup through closeout with project specific tasks including RFI's, estimates, budgets, schedule of values, change orders, monthly billings, job cost review and reportingAssist project manager in planning work schedule, determining manpower levels, and arranging for assignment of field personnelAssist project manager with material orderingAssist in the coordination of project activities to insure project progresses on schedule and within budgetAssist project manager in directing and supporting the field team to manage project deliverables and resolve issuesAssist project manager in monitoring labor reports, job cost reports, pre-job planning and two-week look aheadsReview technical specifications of equipment and material submittal data sheets to ensure that equipment and materials purchased match the project specification requirementsAssist in managing the RFI processPrepare and remit submittals and operation and maintenance manualsPrepare change orders for projects, seeking approval for all project change orders and manage change orders to the scope of work to maintain profitabilityAttend pre-bid tours and meetingsFollow up with General Contractors/Engineers on budgeting questions and pricing as neededAssist in the preparation of complete estimates by participating in reviewing plans and specifications, drawings, proposals, takeoffs and other documentation, attending pre-bid meetings, and gathering quotes and assessing scope of work and resources requiredAssist in coordinating pre-construction meetings for projects awarded to ensure communication and coordination between project manager, foreman, and fieldCollaborate with project manager assistant (PMA) to obtain required permits, licensing, etc.Manage costs by assisting in the tracking of labor and materialsQualifications Two year or four year construction management or engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience0-5 years of construction administration and project management supportAbility to manage multiple prioritiesStrong time management skillsGood communications skills, both oral and writtenStrong organizational skillsProficient with Microsoft office, particularly Excel
