Description PROJECT ENGINEER

At Brycon, we are looking to expand our team and are currently looking for motivated candidates who want to build a career in construction. We are an established company with over 31 years of experience in the construction industry.

Brycon is hiring a motivated, detailed, and safety-orientated Project Engineer to work with our general contracting team in Reno, Nevada. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review project plans and proposals, and work with management to develop project objectivesStudy product design, customer requirements, and performance standards to determine project specifications and present cost estimatesReview contractor bidsThrough project coordination meetings and other forms of communication, oversee and coordinate the technical aspects of the project.Prepare status reports and regularly monitor schedulesMaintain an accurate record of all elements of the project via an electronic databaseMonitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specificationsInteract daily with clients to interpret their needs and requirementsRead drawings and prepare take-offsPrepare, submit, and track RFIs and submittalsGenerate and track all change ordersTrack and log all drawingsCollaborate and communicate effectively with the Project Manager and other project participants to ensure project successInform safety managers, superintendents, and/or appropriate supervisors of any safety violations and/or injuries immediatelyEstablish annual continuing education goals to improve performance and proficiency in construction project managementCollect closeout documentation and prepare turnover O&M manuals to the OwnerOther Duties as assignedEmployees may be required to work extended hours (more than 8 hours per day), weekends, and holidays. An employee will be compensated based on Fair Labor Standards Act guidelines. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or other construction-related fields of study preferred1+ years relevant work or internship experience, knowledge of general contracting a plusAbility to interpret drawings and specificationsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsOrganization and time management skillsFamiliarity with Bluebeam, Timberline, PlanGrid, P6, Microsoft Scheduler, Microsoft Outlook, and/or Microsoft Office SuiteKnowledge of the preconstruction phase, bidding/estimating, accounting, risk management, safety, budget control, schedule control, submittals, RFIs, and change order processesAdvanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc., plus an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between construction and design teams Must successfully complete and pass a background check and drug/alcohol testingA valid driver's record preferredPerks & Benefits Competitive wages Health, dental, and vision insurance Teladoc (company paid) 401(k) profit-sharing retirement plan Personal time off Educational assistance Apprenticeship programs Employee recognition program Gym reimbursement Leadership training Certificate programs Continuous training opportunities Career growth and development opportunitiesBrycon EEO Statement:
