Compensation $100-115k
We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position is responsible for leading and managing mechanical engineering projects, overseeing the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and equipment, and ensuring they meet customer requirements. Duties & Responsibilities:
• Lead project mechanical engineer activities including scope review, resource assignment, work breakdown planning, and project execution
• Coordinates activities concerned with technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering design issues.
• Coordinates the activities of technical staff from project award through project completion.
• Lead project mechanical engineer capable of directing the project team, delegating work to discipline team members, performing quality reviews, and managing client interactions.
• Lead multi-discipline projects including project definition, execution plan, and quality review process.
• Design Equipment components parts: prepare machining and fabrication drawings, select purchased components; review existing designs for improvement; execute engineering change orders.
• Analyze component function and physical property requirements; understand special concepts concerning system interfaces; apply proper dimensioning and tolerancing principles to modeling, design, and drawing; and interpret project requirements and their relationship to Centrisys equipment.
• Perform stress analysis of structural integrity on the strength of materials and of the machine and structural components.
• Review and interpret contract specifications and drawings to identify equipment and system requirements; identify areas of compliance and/or deviation; design custom fabrications to meet contract requirements; produce engineering submittal drawings; select required ancillary equipment; address contract engineer's review comments; and prepare custom fabrication drawings.
• Prepare sales drawings; communicate with sales representatives; provide information to consulting engineers.
• Effectively utilize CAD Station, SolidWorks CAD and add-in software, special application printers, MS Office software, and MS Outlook.
• Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and technical writing comprehension.
• Maintain familiarity with engineering terminology, units, suffixes, and abbreviations for materials, production treatments, and company and competitor's machines and parts.
• Demonstrate and maintain the ability to learn and develop skills quickly.
• Communicates and coordinates directly with consulting engineers, contractors, and other technical stakeholders to agree on project scope and execution.
• Evaluates project specifications, proposals, and submittals from inception to finalization Requirements:
• Minimum of bachelor's degree in mechanical, Structural or Plant engineering or in a related field
• 5-10 years of experience working as a Plant Design Engineer
• Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
• Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems
• Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, REVIT
• Strong experience in plant layouts.
• Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills
• Must be self-motivated and a great team worker
• At least 5 years of project management experience managing the scope, schedule, and successful delivery of mechanical engineering projects
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong knowledge of relevant mechanical engineering and construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
• Strong self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with clients effectively, persuasively, and tactfully, regulators, project managers, and employees at all levels of the organization.
• Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
