Job Description: Budget Title: Assistant Facilities Program Coordinator (SL-3)
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000
Binghamton University is lookingfor a full time Project Coordinator to join our Construction Management Team within the Facilities Management Department, to managerenovation projects specifically requested by Residential Life (dormitories), Athletics, and other project types as assigned. FacilitiesManagement works closely with Residential Life to renovate areas within the many residential communities; completing both minor and majorprojects to continuously update these areas. Facilities Management also works closely with Athletics on new field projects and renovationsof existing facilities. This position would report to the Assistant Director of Construction Management. 
The Project Coordinatorwould work with University Designers (Architects, Engineers, & Landscape Architects), Contractors, Facilities Management staff, ResidentialLife staff, Athletics, and other on-campus departments while completing the design and construction of these projects.
Theincumbent will act as the primary contact person for all assigned projects from the planning through the execution by focusing on campusneeds and impacts, while maintaining approved budgets and timelines. This individual would be tasked with monitoring constructionschedules, reviewing design and construction documents, keeping construction documents current during projects, attending job andcoordination meetings, observing tests performed on the job site, maintaining office records and files according to an established standard,preparing daily reports, reviewing submittals/shops, reviewing payment applications, assisting with inspection reports, andtracking/coordinating issues during the construction warranty periods. They will be expected to visit jobsites daily to oversee work andhave knowledge of job site safety. The successful candidate will be a proactive, organized, self-motivated professional with outstandingcommunication and interpersonal skills; who possess the ability to maintain collaborative relationships and adapt to change while handlingmultiple tasks simultaneously. Due to the nature of the work, this position may require, on occasion, a non-standard work schedule with theability to respond to off-hour emergencies should they occur.
As stated above, this position will primarily work on projectsassociated with Residential Life, Athletics, or Capital. Typically, Residential Life annually renovates an existing dormitory in itsentirety. Dorm renovations typically include abatement, demolition, new exterior components such as roofing and windows, new mechanical,electrical, and plumbing systems, telecommunications, site work, new finishes, and coordination with new furniture deliveries. ResidentialLife also completes a number of minor upgrades during the summer months. These upgrades typically consist of upgrading finishes within dormsand other residential communities which are not slated for immediate renovation in their entirety. As the University continues to expand andadd more residential students, the campus is also considering adding a new dormitory in the near future for which the incumbent would alsobe actively involved in. The Athletics Department currently as a 5 Year Plan for projects. Mainly for outdoor areas such as turf fields,track and court renovations, but will also include interior renovations such as the Events Center track/bleachers and upgrades to lockerrooms, pool areas, and courts.

AssociateDegree in Construction Management, Architecture, Business, or a related field Minimum (5) five years of progressive experience inproject management and/or working in the construction trades Proficient in computer applications with the ability to use facilitymanagement programs, project management and spreadsheet software, calendar tools and other related software Working knowledge ofAutoCAD and/or Revit Proficient in the MS suite Knowledge of construction methods and technologies with a thoroughunderstanding of project specifications, plan drawings and other construction documents; including submittals and shopdrawings Organizational skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex issues with a diverse population Validdriver's license Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a higher education setting with multi-million-dollarfacilities; prior knowledge of project management including planning, design, construction management, cost estimating, andbudgets Working knowledge of New York State Building Codes and other code standards Technical knowledge of architectural,mechanical and electrical building systems OSHA 10 Additional Information: Offers of employment may becontingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check and verification of degree(s) and credentials.
