This is a limited durationappointment expected to last approximately 1 year from the appointment begin date.
This Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)Program Representative will be a member of the Oregon State University College of Business. This position is primarily remote within thestate of Oregon. Occasional travel to the hub location in Corvallis and throughout the state of Oregon will be required. The VITA ProgramRepresentative will report directly to the VITA Program Manager. The VITA Program Representative will serve as the on-the-groundrepresentative for the mobile OSU VITA site throughout the state of Oregon and provide a range of support to enable VITA program growth andsustainment.
VITA is a collaborative venture between the College of Business, Oregon State University Extension, and the InternalRevenue Service, designed to complete federal and state tax returns for low to moderate income individuals and families in Oregon. The VITAprogram engages with outreach to expand services of Black, Indigenous, Pacific Islander and Hispanic communities in all areas of Oregon.VITA is funded by a grant from the Oregon Department of Human Services.
The position will involve acquiring and maintaining anextensive knowledge of VITA programs, policies, procedures, and requirements. The VITA Program representative is expected to act as asubject matter expert on these and to support VITA Program Site Coordinators, volunteers, and community partners on questions as theyarise.
The incumbent will coordinate and operate Mobile Site / "Pop-up" events (generally occurring mid-February - mid-April) forVITA tax preparation throughout the state of Oregon including working with the VITA Program Managers, and local VITA Site Coordinators todetermine event location, date, hours, etc. The incumbent will have on-site operational leadership for these events whenever an OSU SiteCoordinator or community-partner VITA site coordinator is not present.

This position requires driving a university vehicle or apersonal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess andmaintain a current, valid drivers license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions asper University Policy 05-030. Working Conditions / Work Schedule Remote/virtual office environment, as agreed upon by the employee andsupervisor.
