About Mouse: Mouse is a national nonprofit that empowers youth and educators in historically underserved communities to engage with computer science and creative technology. Our programs are funded by Google, AT&T, Verizon and others to help public school students discover new technology and succeed in the digital workforce.
About This Role: Reporting to the Senior Director, Program Strategy & Impact, the Program Manager, Design League oversees Mouse's Design League program implementation across the entire network of participating districts and schools in New York City.
This position collaborates cross-team to implement the Design League strategy, honing in on skills including: relationship management, stakeholder communications & asset design, Design League curriculum implementation, coaching & support, and event management at both school-level and city-wide events.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES This position reports to the Senior Director of Program Strategy & Impact.
Stakeholder Portfolio Relationship Management Manage a set number of Design League schools within a designated portfolio. This includes supporting participants' Design League experience from recruitment, to onboarding, to professional development, to implementation, mentor engagement, and program feedback. Build and maintain strong relationships with district and school leaders to keep them informed, updated, and closely connected to educator and student success. Program Operations and Data: Manage the program scope and implementation timeline for each partner network's program cycle. Manage stakeholder communications and data to accurately account for each partner's success. Program Implementation: Co-facilitate professional development modules with the partner network's Design League implementation team. Work with the broader Design League team to iterate on professional development modules and Design League curriculum to keep it relevant, adaptable and digestible for educators. Communicate regularly with educators to support them prior to professional development and during Design League implementation. Schedule coaching sessions when needed and solicit feedback after program completion. Actively look for ways to keep educators linked and synced to each other during the program cycle. Regular visits to all Design League schools to support program success. Design League Program Events: Coordinate with school administrators to plan, host, and support participant presentation days at their locations to create the best experience possible for all stakeholders. Tech Professional Mentor Program Administration Onboard volunteer mentors, ensure successful scheduling & execution of mentor visits, and support mentors throughout program implementation. Emoti-Con Steering Committee & Event Support Support the Design League end of year event, Emoti-con, with event strategy, planning, logistics, and execution. Emoti-con is NYC's annual Youth Digital Media & Technology Challenge- a project fair for students across NYC who believe in digital innovation as a tool for positive change in the world around them. Design League Program Collateral Support social media initiatives related to the program. Draft or coordinate resources that support teachers' implementation of the program, for example: create how-to guides, transcribe videos, etc. Requirements WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A CANDIDATE A deep and personal commitment to learners and educators. You have experience as an educator (formally or informally) and are able to lead a portfolio of educators to growth and success. You value and promote social and cultural diversity, equity, and inclusion. Experience with applied STEM, design, and/or computer science content, particularly in an educational setting. You're a stellar communicator – both written and verbal – and people coach. You have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, including the capacity to coordinate details, multi-task and generate creative solutions Highly organized with excellent project management and time-management skills Embody an entrepreneurial demeanor and approach problems with an asset minded and solutions oriented mindset. Ability to work independently and as part of a small or large team Tech skills required: experience with the Google Apps Suite (docs, slides, and sheets), experience using and facilitating meetings with video conferencing tools (like Zoom, Google Meet, etc). The organization currently holds monthly full staff in-person meetings, with additional team in-person office days scheduled as needed, and will be moving to a regular cadence of remote and in-person days to best support team collaboration.
