Job descriptionPosition Description: The Program Coordinator will assist both program leads in maintaining and expanding each program, assist in maintaining current relationships with our network and building new relationships. This role will assist in the execution of the Farmer Training Program and Good Food Accelerator Program while collaborating with consultants and volunteers to carry out the goals and objectives of each program.
Duties and Responsibilities: Program Training/Workshops (60%) Provide logistical support, guidance, and materials to partners before, during, and after workshops Manage implementation of innovative programming Attend all sessions with Program Manager Responsible for administrative duties (calendar invites, instructor confirmation, etc.) Keep office prepped and ready for sessionsOutreach (20%) Create and manage the preparation of outreach materials in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications Team Identify partners for workshop collaboration Research and recruit new Good Food Businesses for program participation Research and recruit new Instructors, Mentors, and Associate Board members Uphold and continue to build community partnerships, specifically in the south and west sides of Chicago Help plan networking eventsMetrics + Internal Administration (20%) Keep all program metrics sheets and databases up to date Collect testimonials from volunteers and business participants Organize and update files to streamline internal documentation Manage and update our network listserv Lead grant reporting and execution of projects as outlined in grants Create marketing toolkits and materials for partners in collaboration with Marketing & Communications Team Execute program communications and website updates in collaboration with Marketing & Communications Team Other related assignments as necessary.Skills & Experience: Stellar customer service and communication skills. This is position external and outward facing Strong levels of competence and reliability 2+ years in office administration or non-profit settings. Experience working with USDA-funded programming is a plus Background in recruitment and/or community outreach Experience working for or with communities from underserved or diverse areas Experience managing professional social media platforms, gaining followers, and keeping up a consistent and branded voice across all platforms Event planning experience Highly organized with data collection and internal document updates Self-motivated with ability to work on multiple tasks, while still completing goals on time Knowledgeable of all Microsoft and Google platforms Strong writing and proofreading skills Always extremely prepared and on time for meetings Driven to support small businesses and grow local food systems, with a mindset of inclusiveness Flexible and able to step into other roles when needed, as we are a small team Preferably has access to a car, but is not requiredPosition Status: Full-time, salaried, exempt status Competitive benefits including 401k match program, healthcare, and PTO Nonprofit-competitive compensation commensurate with experience and skill level Work time is generally Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week and will require some evenings and weekendsWork Environment: This job will be done in a hybridenvironment working from home, office space, and in the field as the position requires. We expect that team members are still presenting professionally for all video calls and meetings when working away from the office. We will be in-personat the Chicago office: 328 N Albany Ave, Chicago IL, for weekly programming sessions, staff meetings, and occasional events.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some physical activity is required. This would require the ability to lift and carry office or event equipment or move some office furniture.
