Department Description POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Assistant Supervisor in the Department of Special Education, the Instructional Program Coordinator- Coordinated Early Intervening Services (CEIS) is responsible for facilitating the implementation, monitoring, and assessment of the CEIS Program and communicating outcomes with appropriate stakeholders. This position will provide oversight and support to CEIS personnel to ensure the goals and objectives of the proposals are met.

Salary Range: $66,095 - $147,917 CLOSING DATE: May 28, 2024
Detailed Description DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Implements the goals and objectives of the Department of Special Education CEIS plan;
Assists schools in the implementation of the Response to Intervention (RtI) process by providing support in conducting universal screening to identify students with areas of academic and/or behavioral concerns; matching interventions to student's needs, implementing intervention, monitoring results of intervention and making adjustments to intervention, if necessary;
Assists with progress monitoring to assess students' performance over time, to quantify student rates of improvement or responsiveness to instruction, to evaluate instructional effectiveness, and to formulate effective individualized programs that are implemented with fidelity;
Determines interventions appropriate to student needs; implements intervention and monitors results of intervention and makes adjustments, if necessary;
Conducts and coordinates professional development for teachers and other school staff to enable the use of instructional and monitoring software;
Provides instruction and guidance on the use of instructional and/or intervention data tracking tools;
Provides oversight and support to key members of the CEIS program;
Facilitates the completion of educational assessments and assesses the progress of students receiving intervention as part of the CEIS plan;
Monitors the use of resources, including the expenditure of funds;
Implements the use of and trains key personnel on the Instructional Intervention Data Tracking Tool; Maintains accurate and complete records as required by the CEIS plan;
Prepares and submits reports required by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE); and
Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Thorough understanding of the Response to Intervention (RtI) administrative procedure;
Broad knowledge of intervention strategies and current educational trends;
Ability to analyze student performance and participation data for instructional implication;
Computer literacy including proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred; and
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) as well as effective communication skills and interpersonal skills.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred, from an accredited college or university, five (5) years of successful teaching experience, and at least three (3) years teaching in special education. CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced Professional Certificate in Special Education. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides support to the CEIS School Psychologist, CEIS Social Workers and the CEIS Crisis Resource Teachers to ensure the implementation of the CEIS Program with fidelity . PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
