PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

StarVista's Differential Response is a collaborative effort between Child Protective Services (CPS) and StarVista. Services are voluntary and are offered to strengthen and support the family unit in order to keep children out of the child welfare system.

The program offers weekly visits with a Differential Response Case Manager for three to six months, with an option to extend if needed. The approach is collaborative, family driven, and child centered.

POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:

The Program Coordinator will provide administrative management of home visiting staff under the San Mateo County Differential Response Program. This program provides culturally competent, case management services to Path 1, Path 2 and aftercare families referred to by the Human Service Agency and Child Welfare Department. The position involves supervising the Intake Coordinator, supporting staff, program monitoring and reporting.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Through strong leadership skills, implementation of the mission and vision of StarVista as developed by the Board of Directors and Executive Staff.
Represent StarVista in the community at large to promote the services of the program as well as other programs within the agency.
Assist with Quality Assurance including documenting all activities, keep daily records, and complete program evaluation materials and other record keeping functions as required by Human Service Agency.
Assist in running Parent Project Groups in addition to other parent groups/workshops
Audit files upon closure and dismissal of closed cases in ETO.
Support Program Manager in compiling data for monthly, quarterly and yearly reports.
Assist Program Manager in referral assignment to case managers.
In partnership with the Program Manager, help oversee the needs of the program staff, including hiring, training, and development.
Support Program Manager to ensure that high quality services are consistently delivered, and the records are maintained in accordance with appropriate standards.
Collaborate with Program Manager to conduct team meetings and training for staff.
Protect confidentiality of families/client files according to State, Federal and Professional guidelines
Attend staff meetings, training, supervision, and other meetings as required.
Uphold professionalism with community agencies-maintain appropriate boundaries.
Conduct Differential Response training with HSA for all new SW hires and interns.
Observe home visits and provide feedback to team members.
Other duties as assigned
Work as part of multidisciplinary team in an office environment
Provide treatment services in homes and in office environments
Travel to and from work sites
Handle confidential information and documents, as well as potential crisis situations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in relevant field required or must have at least 6 years of relevant experience.
Culturally sensitive, bilingual/bicultural Spanish is preferred.
Minimum of 4 years working with families and their children who experience multiple risk factors.
Valid CA Driver's license, working car, proof of auto insurance
Ability to pass fingerprint and TB clearance is required.
Enjoys working with a large, dynamic team, supporting families with children ranging in age from prenatal to adolescence.
Demonstrable ability in working with challenging clients.
Well organized, dependable, and punctual.
Flexibility in meeting changing priorities as the work requires.
Able to function as part of a team and possess strong interpersonal skills.
Leadership skills and abilities.
Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet specific deadlines.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Open flexibility/availability for evening support, as needed.
Experience, knowledge, and skills working with at risk children and families.
Experience with home visiting and case management.
Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent organizational skills.
Knowledge of engagement strategies, community resources, referrals and follow-up strategies relevant to clients.
Strong computer skills. Knowledge of WORD, EXCEL, and OUTLOOK
Strong leadership skills, ability to lead projects.
Knowledge of laws, regulations and clinical issues specific to child welfare services.
Ability to work with diverse populations.
