We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Coding Specialist to join our team. As a Coding Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate abstraction of physician services from medical records. Utilizing your expertise in ICD-10 CM and ICD-10 PCS coding, particularly with FQHC experience, you will uphold our commitment to delivering timely and precise coding services. Primary/Essential Functions:
Thoroughly review medical records to abstract and code facility and physician professional services and diagnosis codes, including inpatient admissions, surgical procedures, and diagnostic services across multiple specialties.
Adhere to Official Coding Guidelines and rules to assign appropriate ICD-10 CM and ICD-10 PCS codes and modifiers with a minimum accuracy rate of 98%.
Provide documentation feedback to clients and/or account managers.
Maintain up-to-date coding reference information.
Review and communicate new or revised billing and coding guidelines to providers and their assigned specialties.
Resolve pre-accounts receivable edits and identify repetitive documentation problems and system issues.
Correctly adjust incorrectly billed services, add missing unbilled services, and provide missing data as needed.
Collaborate with Patient Accounting and other operational areas to provide coding reimbursement assistance and assist in resolving incorrect claim issues.
Work with Revenue Cycle staff and Account Inquiry Unit staff as required, assisting in obtaining necessary documentation.
Meet established minimum coding productivity and quality standards for each encounter type.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Core Talent Essentials (Education & Experience):
High School diploma or equivalent.
AHIMA or AAPC Certification required.
3+ years of experience in healthcare medical coding, with Pro Fee experience required.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Advanced and proficient knowledge of ICD-10 CM and ICD-10 PCS.
