Job Description As a production supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a diverse and talented manufacturing team. Your primary goal is to properly organize staff members and achieve a reasonable workflow throughout the day. Your position will also include directing, disciplining, training, and assisting lower-level manufacturing employees in a factory setting.
Production Supervisor Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Helps manufacturing staff achieve company goals by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results Enforces company policies and guidelines Trains employees Assists workers by offering personal growth opportunities and cross training. Implements cost-saving strategies and techniques Ensures that production plans are completed by set deadlines Communicates cross functionally with other departments to ensure that jobs are completed and that there are people and equipment available to complete jobs. Coach employees on how to achieve an optimal output or workflow. Resolves issues and disputes between manufacturing employees with senior leadership. Maintains a clean and safe environment for all workers. Compiles and analyzes production records including the KPI's for their area Physical Requirements:
Standing, walking, lifting 30 lbs. or more, pulling, pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, color determination, near acuity, speaking, listening Work Environment:
This position is required to work in a manufacturing environment facility. While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. Safety:
Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to company and OSHA safety guidelines. Wear the proper protective equipment as required and ensure all direct reports are doing the same. Qualifications 2+ years of previous supervisory experience (Team lead or Supervisor)2+ years' experience in manufacturing Lean experience and certifications preferred Excellent coaching and communication skills Ability to track expenses and KPI data. Broad knowledge of production planning processes Strategic planning skills Comfortable working in manufacturing environment Understanding of machine controls and instrumentation Able to deal with complex issues in a fast-paced setting.
