This position involves heading a team in the Motion NEMA Motors production unit or line, ensuring continuous and efficient production operations in line with plans, procedures, and quality and safety standards and policies.

In this role, you will be responsible for the quality, production, safety, housekeeping and problem solving on a daily basis for their department on the third shift in the Columbus, Mississippi facility. You will also be responsible for improving quality, safety, productivity and overall performance.
This position reports to

Production Manager
Your responsibilities

Foster a culture where safety is first priority and procedures and policies are followed
Be a representative of management that portrays a professional attitude and supports the ABB goals and objectives
Provide leadership, direction, training and administration of anyone assigned to their department
Operate in compliance with OSHA and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) Standards
Work with all other departments, supervisors and managers to solve problems and accomplish plant goals
Apply sound communication and motivational techniques in supervising, counseling and discipline direct reports
Enforce general handbook policies fairly and consistently
Your background

High School Diploma / GED with minimum 6 years of manufacturing experience or Associates Degree with minimum 4 years of manufacturing experience or Bachelors Degree with minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience
Preferred Experience Includes:
Knowledge of basic Computer numerical control (CNC) machining - SAP, Kronos, Lean Certification
Candidate must be able to supervise employees while achieving all daily production goals
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
Understand manufacturing concepts, processes and Flex Flow and Lean concepts
Able to handle multiple tasks, changing priorities and perform well under pressure
Willing to attend leadership and continuing education classes
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
