Responsibilities
• Keep the Produce Department stocked and clean• Assist customers and maintain a friendly demeanor• Ensure cleanliness and safety in the department• Stock and rotate products• Respond to customer inquiries and cross-sell products• Receive, inspect, and log products• Monitor point of purchase signs• Operate equipment• Participate in pre-inventory preparation• Run the cut fruit and vegetable program• Take responsibility for department sales and profitability
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalency degree• Preferred 1-2 years grocery retail experience• Knowledge of floral department processes and procedures• Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus• Excellent customer service skills• Ability to adapt to a high-volume retail environment• Ability to take initiative and problem solve• Flexibility and ability to multitask• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills• Ability to work varied hours/days• Familiarity with Health Department guidelines and regulations• Basic math, weights, and measures knowledge• Ability to push and pull fully loaded hand trucks• Understanding of proper handling and preparation of products
