Reporting to the General Manager you will be a critical part of this business building strong partnerships and transparently communicating with everyone from operators on the mill floor to general manager.Responsibilities:Provide visible safety leadership in line with our value of creating a Zero Harm Workplace.Ensure that adequate safety standards, procedures and methods of work are being maintained consistent with company, federal, and state regulations.Deliver operational results through effective management of the processing teams.Prepare annual operating and capital budgets, forecasts, and life of mine plans.Maintain cost control and improvement actions to deliver on budget commitments.Lead the processing department that includes technical and operational aspects of the mill, water treatment, tailings, labs, paste fill and metallurgy.Deliver capital and operational improvement projects including plant improvements, tails facility expansion and other site surface projects.Coordinate activities with other department managers to ensure integration throughout the operation including mining, geology, maintenance, environmental, exploration, finance, & HR.Maintain open communications with onsite and offsite personnel including internal and external experts, and Barrick executive. Qualifications:Bachelor of Applied Science or Engineering degree in Metallurgy, Minerals or Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline.
