DESCRIPTION Position Responsibilities Summary: Teacher Support: Provides lead, support, advice, guidance to faculty, students, and Administration focused on students who learn differently and to advance literacy development for all students. Provides ongoing literacy support (co-teaching and co-planning) to help teachers improve performance and identify diverse learners' needs and implement plans to foster student academic success. Maintains the RWS Scope & Sequence and Structured literacy ESS Drive. Observes teachers and models structured literacy classroom instruction. Monitors student progress and provides resources, follow-up feedback, and facilitates professional development opportunities. Works with teachers to implement classroom accommodations and program adjustments. Teachers/students focus: EC 'Suns', grades 1-8.  Parent Support: Works closely with families to offer support, advice and education when students' struggles arise. Offers guidance and collaborates with outside specialized professionals for further screening, assessments, therapies and remediation and assists families with interpretation of results. Meets with parents, teachers and school district educational support teams for local public school assessments, individualized education plans (IEPs), and funding. Enrollment Support: Works closely with Enrollment Administrator reviewing applications, IEP's, and collaborates in enrollment decisions. Essential Functions: Provides direct support/intervention to individuals 1:1 and small groups using evidence-based instructional strategies. Teachers/students focus: grades 1-3. Interprets student performance data and any outside evaluations to identify and respond to differentiated learning and intervention needs. Administers and evaluates assessments for: Admissions Assessments for new incoming students EC- First Grade Readiness Screenings & create consistency between all classes 1st Grade Phonological assessments 2nd Grade Academic assessments 2nd Grade Developmental assessments 5th Grade Academic assessments Screenings as requested by teachers and parents Creates and manages Program Adjustments, Student Support documents, psychoeducational reports and all related policies. Leads and manages a committee of teachers to help organize child studies. Take recommendations from study and organize the support needed for teachers and students. Maintains positive relationships with parents and responds to all parent concerns Maintains positive, professional relationships with colleagues and responds to all collegial concerns Engages in on-going professional and personal growth Fulfills other duties, as assigned, relative to the job responsibilities Compensation and Benefits  The salary rate for this regular, full-time, exempt position is $42,000 to $53,000 per year, depending on exact experience and qualifications. This is a 10-month school year position beginning on or around July 1, 2024 and expected to end on or around June 30, 2025. RWS offers the following benefits to full-time staff: 90% Tuition remission for dependent child/ren enrolled at RWS 80 hours Paid Time Off (PTO) per year Free Aftercare for dependent children during scheduled work hours (children must also be enrolled in a school program.)
