Responsibilities
• Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, adaptation, and modification of standard techniques, guidelines, procedures, and criteria• Devises new approaches to maintenance, operations, or testing• Prepare administrative and technical documents• May coordinate project assignments• May direct overall activities on specific assignments• May conduct inspections on work in progress• May coordinate with other departments within the company/labs and with outside vendors• Provide solutions for moderately complex assignment-related problems• Provide support for execution of program/project activities and data collection• Contribute to designs, reports, and technical proposals• Define specifications for procurements and completes purchase requests• Mentor less experienced individuals in specific discipline• May assist in managing the NSSS collection of acoustic and other types of sensors• Must be familiar with ARGUS system requirements and operation• Orders equipment and parts per maintenance requirements• Participates in the On Call Program and provides Mission Critical Support• Perform other duties assigned by Management
Requirements
• Associate degree in field related to the position plus at least 9 years' progressive related experience or High School diploma plus 11 years' progressive related experience• Associate degree in health physics preferred• Must be self-motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills• Ability to work well as an individual or in a team environment• Computer skills with software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point) is required• Must have advanced working knowledge of software programs that include calculations, formulas, and charting expertise• Technical knowledge of radiation protection principles and instrument theory is required• Knowledge and experience in portable survey instruments and counting equipment operation and procedures, laboratory quality control, laboratory analysis techniques, quality assurance programs and practices, and knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and criteria pertinent to radiological survey instrument is required• Must be able to employ independent judgement and apply professional knowledge to ensure that assignments are completed efficiently, accurately, and on time• Must possess a valid driver's license• Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required
