And we're driven by our Mission to alleviate pain, restore health and extend life for millions of people worldwide. At Medtronic, we push the limits of what technology can do to make tomorrow better than yesterday and that makes it an exciting and rewarding place to work.  We value what makes you unique.  Be a part of a company that thinks differently to solve problems, make progress, and deliver meaningful innovations.In this exciting role as an Principal Opto-mechanical Process Engineer,you will have responsibility for developing and sustaining device finishing processes such as precision laser cutting, shaping, measurement, and testing.This position will work onsite at our plant in Tempe, AZA Day in the LifeResponsibilities include:Provide technical and sustaining engineering support in a manufacturing area.Recommend and implement equipment and process modifications to meet quality standards and improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques as well as production yields for existing products.Integrate equipment and material capabilities to meet process module target specifications and technology target specifications.Review product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to determine costs and schedules.Interact with product design and development personnel to ensure that processes and designs are compatible.May develop and conduct statistical analysis or recommend additions to document work.Leads the innovation, development and/or optimization of new manufacturing concepts, processes and procedures for transfer to manufacturing operations.Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques including the measurement systems.Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.Must Have: Minimum RequirementsBachelors degreeMinimum of 7 years relevant engineering experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant engineering experienceNice to HaveExperience with laser cutting, singulation/dicing, shaping, or laser measurementprocesses.Have the experience or aptitude to program, run and troubleshoot automated equipment, machine vision and automated metrology toolsExperience with CAD layout systemsExperience with Lean Sigma, or Green/Black Belt Lean Sigma certificationKnowledge of DOE, statistical analysis methods and data analysis tools (Minitab, JMP, etc.).Experience and understanding of SPC principles including process capability analysis and control chartsExperience sustaining in manufacturing productionAbout MedtronicTogether, we can change healthcare worldwide.
