The RoleWe are seeking a Principal Platform Engineering lead to join team as an individual contributor and Cloud and DevOps Enablement SME. Role will lead technical design and release of Cloud & DevOps Engineering capabilities; Providing technical direction, coaching and mentoring to fellow engineers.Partner with leadership to define technical roadmaps of cloud and automation platforms aligned with Engineering Excellence strategic objectives.Work closely with engineering, architecture, and other partners to enable DevOps and Cloud Engineering capabilities (DORA Capability Catalog)Build reusable automation to help standardize development that enable self-service.Help squads build and deliver cloud native software in AWS/Azure platforms.
Work on making systems scalable, reliable, secure, flexible, automated, and easy to use.Help app teams build, support and design pipeline orchestration and automation.
Fully take part in weekly Learning Day Activities as a learner and a teacherAid in technical leadership for team members and customers
Be a role model and champion of team principles and practices.Liaison between leadership and team (Be the leadership voice in the room).Lead product engineering from design to delivery.Facilitate team planning and service delivery.Drive continuous improvement, upskilling initiatives.
Lead technical working groups, communities, and partnerships.The Expertise and Skills You Bring10+ years' experience in Cloud Engineering or Platform Engineering.BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.Must be passionate about partnership, continuous improvement, collaboration.Intellectually curious and passionate about learning/inspiring others.Extensive experience working with various DevOps/ALM tools and detailed knowledge in Secure Software Development Process, particularly in a cloud environment.Experience with Platform Engineering and process automation (everything-as-code!)Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Python, Ansible).Proven track record of implementing cloud-based (AWS/Azure) solutions via CI/CD.Interest in building systems using modern, scalable, resilient, cloud native architectures (Kubernetes, Containers, Serverless).Development experience including web apps, APIs, Microservices and testing is a plus.Understanding of well architected framework implementation in the Enterprise: Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Efficiency and Cost Optimization is a plus.Excellent communication & presentation abilities.Ability to thrive in a fast paced, highly matrix environment to achieve group goals.Strong commitment to quality documentation, and engineering excellence.Strong dedication to delivering quality code through unit, integration, and automation testing.The Value You DeliverHelp software engineering teams build and release software quickly, reliably, and securely.Accelerate adoption of emerging DevOps technologies and technical practices.The TeamHere at Enterprise Technology Software Engineering Domain (SWE), you will play a role in execution of critical initiatives and projects. The individual will also have the opportunity to collaborate with extraordinary engineers from around the globe and to interact with senior management for communication and consultation purposes.The successful Candidate for this role will become part of the SWE DevOps and Cloud Enablement team working directly with various application teams as part of Enterprise Technology. Your team will work to find and create solutions that improve the developer experience and build autonomy with the goal of making it possible for other developers to succeed in their CI/CD journey.The base salary range for this position is $85,000-$179,000 per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.Base salary is only part of the total compensation package.
