Our client is a rapidly expanding electro-mechanical technology manufacturer looking for a

Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

to help facilitate analysis, design changes, and new product development.

Responsibilities
Design/engineer components & assemblies in 2D/3D CAD system to meet all functional & structural product requirements, including manufacturability & assembly
Perform tolerance stacks and structural analysis as required to ensure designs meet requirements (Experience or knowledge of FEA (finite element analysis) a plus)
Prepare component & assembly detail drawings for release to production
Develop parts lists/BOMs
Hands-on support of prototype and production builds
Provide technical support to engineering, validation, purchasing, quality, and production departments
Conduct continuous improvement reviews and sustaining engineering initiatives (knowledge of Lean / 6-Sigma is a plus)
Assist with data-driven approach to problem solving/root cause analysis

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

OR

equivalent experience
5-10 years of design engineering/product development experience in a solid modeling-based CAD system (SolidWorks) and 2D AutoCAD LT
Basic working knowledge of GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerancing), DFM (design for manufacturability), and DFA (design for assembly)
