Job Description:

The Team

Payroll Deduction Platform team which is part of the Employer Servicing and Integration (ESI) product area is building a new platform to support multiproduct for validation, match and initiation of moving the verified data into various recordkeeping systems. Defined Contributions(DC) modernization along with SPS and H&W are some of the initiatives that need this platform to be aligned to get the systems off of mainframe and other legacy platforms. Goalbooster, 529 are some of the products that are leveraging this platform already and will need ongoing enhancements to support the needs of the plan sponsors.
As a Principal Software Engineer for this squad, you are responsible to pair your technical skills with a strong understanding of software development process in web service platform within a large enterprise environment. This candidate should be a Tech. Lead who likes to be "hands on", and comfortable providing technical guidance to software engineers, strong desire to grow knowledge and capabilities while focused on the tasks at hand. Oversee and coordinate work with environmental dependencies and integrations with consuming applications or other interoperable platforms.
The Expertise You Have

Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
10+ years of development experience (currently

hands on ) in Java, Spring MVC / Spring Core / Spring Boot Web Services (SOAP/REST) and configuring web containers.
4+ years experience in Cloud technologies (Azure)
2+ years experience in data engineering especially in Oracle SQL & PL/SQL
Proven ability to work in a matrixed organization and influence in prioritization process.
Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring that implementation conforms to agreed upon architecture direction
Ability to lead and influence associates throughout the software development process
Hands on design and coding, particularly in the implementation of scalable solutions and time-to-market-enabling frameworks
Understand end to end technical architecture
Understand business context and problem that is being solved
Develop reusable capabilities and accelerators to enable flawless execution of IT projects
Ability to work with vendors and influence the design that helps the organization
Skills and Knowledge:

Experience leading and guiding a team of developers
Expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining critical, large, multi-tiered architecture systems
Experience of API, Microservices Design & Development
Expertise in building scalable, resilient enterprise applications and RESTful APIs
Experience (hands-on) in Java, Spring MVC, Spring Core, Spring Boot, Angular, Node JS
Experience with GIT, Jenkins, uDeploy Python, Shell Scripts, JSON
DevOps, CI/CD experience
Experience with cloud technologies Azure
Developing and deploying 12-factor, containerized (Docker, Kubernetes) API's to Azure
Experience developing software utilizing relational databases (Oracle)
Ability to quickly learn new concepts and technologies
Design & Develop technical solutions ensuring integration across multiple systems
Develop technical artifacts based on business and systems requirements
Work closely with Architects and contribute to formal reviews of architecture, design, and code
Conduct code reviews and guide team on best practices, standards
Experience working in an Agile environment
