What We're Looking For: Iridium is seeking a talented, hands on Senior Program Finance Analyst to join our accounting team. You will be using your skills to compile, review, monitor and report on government programs. You will be heavily involved in ongoing reporting requirements and analysis for established programs. In this role you will work closely with program managers, contracts, and the business unit, as well as perform a variety of accounting related activites in connection with Iridium's government programs. You will also help lay a foundation for processes, procedures, reporting, and leveraging systems for greater efficiency and meaningful reporting, leveraging industry best practices.
What You'll Do: Collaborate with project managers, EVMS lead, contracts, and the business to support project team members in the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of projects of varying contract types, size, and complexity Support government programs with the preparation of Contract Funding Status Reports (CFSR) which encompasses tracking of obligations, funding limitation notices, as well as subcontractor tracking and funding management. Also support Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), and other program related reporting Be responsible for supporting program budgets/baseline controls, ensuring that required finance inputs, including internal and external reporting, are prepared, reviewed, and submitted on time Create financial charts in support of program management and program reviews; identify cost impacts and develop recovery plans as required Create and maintain Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) file for the program. Monitor labor utilization and identify any necessary actions Lay the foundation for key reports and reporting packages for the program finance role at Iridium Oversee program life-cycle activities such as project setup/maintenance, invoicing support, and accruals Support invoicing of CPFF/CR/FFP & TM contract types with extensive backup requirements Manage month-end close process and interpreting variance/trend analyses Review and approve invoices, track and maintain P.O. Implement improvements to policies and procedures in support of projects including proposals Support government compliance and audit activities What You'll Need to Succeed: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field 10+ years of relevant experience in accounting, including 4+ years in accounting in support of gevernment programs Good understanding of multiple contract types: CPAF, CPFF, CPIF, FFP, IDIQ, T&M. Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Department of Defense FAR Supplement (DFAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Ability to identify risks, evaluate the probability and magnitude, and implement risk-mitigating strategies Hands-on experience in the development, maintenance, and/or tracking of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS's). Understand how job costs are collected and billed on all contract types Strong MS Excel (e.g. Pivot Tables) and Office skills (e.g. PowerPoint) Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues clearly and confidently, and recognize and adapt to different communication techniques Can easily build meaningful relationships with others, including senior leadership outside of your own department, and is comfortable providing constructive feedback to your team members and management Be able to analyze a situation or problem, generate effective solutions, and see those solutions through to completion Must possess the creativity and resourcefulness needed to make reliable decisions and determine methods on new assignments Can thrive in a dynamic environment by handling multiple tasks and managing shifting priorities Be proactive in sharing knowledge you've learned with others We'll also need you to : Be a U.S. citizen Work Environment: This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
