Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life forall.Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.Job Description:As a principal SSD (Solid State Drive) Systems Design Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be part of the Datacenter SSD Product Development Team (PDT) responsible for taking SSDs from design to high volume manufacturing.This role within the PDT will be customer focused, enabling success at Micron's key customers by tailoring our SSD solutions to meet all product requirements and consistently exceed customer expectations. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and strong communication / customer interaction capabilities to predictably deliver high quality products and a positive customer experience throughout the entire product development lifecycle.Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Lead customer core team meetings for your assigned customer(s).Work with applications and customer management teams to identify and comprehend all datacenter SSD product requirements and specific customer expectations.Lead cross-functional teams in designing and developing products across the datacenter SSD product portfolio for the targeted customer.Collaborate with the validation and qualification teams to confirm test coverage for all product requirements.Coordinate all customer qualification test activities for your assigned customer(s) and lead debug efforts for any failures.Manage planning (timelines, budgets, etc.) and execution for any customer or product requirement changes during SSD development.Monitor project progress, proactively identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.Lead technical discussions with the customer, including product design reviews, responding to customer inquiries, and driving RCA / FA reports for any qualification or field failures.Feed lessons learned into all applicable and future products to continuously improve the SSD product portfolio.For this position you must have the ability to thrive in a team environment as well as the ability to work and maintain good relationships with worldwide suppliers andcustomers.It is also essential that you have strong verbal and written technical communication skills, in addition to demonstrated leadership, and problem-solving capabilities.Technical capabilities should include:Failure analysis through a structured problem-solving methodology.Ability to effectively plan, schedule, and prioritize tasks.Full comprehension of the latest storage PCIe / NVMe interface + OCP specifications and their implementation.Full comprehension of NAND and DRAM media specifications and operation.Understanding of TCG specification and SSD security implementation.Ability to drive system engineering efforts through all aspects of new product development, system integration, and system level debug.Ability to collaborate and maintain good relationships with other functional teams, as well as internal and external customers.Superior communication skills with cross-functional development teams and external customers.Education and Experience:BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.Direct knowledge of SSD products and system application.A minimum of 7 years of proven experience in SSD product development and technical leadership.Comprehensive knowledge of NAND flash memory and SSD architecture.Strong understating of PCIe / NVMe interface protocols, as well as the OCP datacenter SSD specification.Project management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer engagement.Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical challenges and provide innovative solutions.Hardware design + hands-on debug experience and proficiency with common lab tools such as logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes,etc.Familiarity with JIRA and ConfluenceThe US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:$143,000.00 - $280,000.00Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.
