Job Description SummaryThe Code and Technical Regulation Compliance Principal Engineer will lead the business's programs for code and regulatory compliance within Plant Services Engineering (PSE), including but not limited to programs related to ASME/IAEA/IEEE working groups, Export Control, CE markings, conflict minerals, REACH, RoHS, and U.S. Toxic Substances Control Act. This role will ensure business opportunities comply with primarily technical non-nuclear domestic and international regulations. In addition, they will drive code and regulatory compliance long-term planning, contribute to the overall strategy, and management of complex issues related to compliance program initiatives within the PSE organization.The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesEnsure engineering compliance with respect to the transfer of Export-Controlled Information (10 CFR Part 110, 10 CFR Part 810, 15 CFR Part 730).Lead PSE engagement with ASME, IEEE, and IAEA organizations to ensure appropriate PSE representation across appropriate working groups.Identify, develop, technically evaluate, and manage engineering solutions for business programs including: ASME/IAEA/IEEE working groups, Export Control, CE markings, conflict mineral campaign, REACH, RoHS, product environmental compliance, and U.S. Toxic Substances Control Act.Technical ownership of ensuring new business opportunities and current products comply with primarily non-nuclear domestic and international regulations (may periodically include nuclear regulations).Drive the development of technical specifications and/or procedures that apply across the business and product lines to ensure compliance with governing regulations.Primary lead for TRS Library, including evolutions in US and international regulatory requirements.PSE liaison with customers and regulatory personnel on regulatory issues, and secure applicable permissions and approvals related to work scopes.Demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives in relation to technical regulations compliance within the PSE.Basic QualificationsBachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Chemistry, Chemical, or Material Science).Minimum 8 years of related professional work experience.Minimum 2 years of experience leading complex projects and driving regulatory guidance/direction to contributing functions (i.e., Engineering).Eligibility RequirementsThe preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.Desired QualificationsMaster's or PhD degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university or college.International licensing and regulatory compliance experience.Working knowledge of ASME, IEEE, IAEA, CE markings, conflict minerals, REACH, RoHS, and U.S. Toxic Substances Control Act (i.e. elimination of PolyFluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) and chrysotile asbestos from products).Quality oversight, licensing process, regulatory knowledge, and technical knowledge in one or more areas, such as: mechanical, electrical components, etc.Working knowledge of PWR/BWR systems, nuclear component fabrication, and/or operations.Experience and demonstrated effectiveness in working/communicating with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and/or international regulatory personnel Experience working with industry groups (i.e., NEI and Owners Groups) on nuclear licensing matters.Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to create technical reports suitable for a wide range of audiences.Effective interpersonal and facilitation skills.Process skills related to coordinating and documenting complex technical documents Externally focused; takes action to enhance the reputation of the company/represents the company well at all opportunities.Clear thinker; communicates messages clearly and concisely with the ability to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on the best available information/ability to sift through complex information and focus on critical few priorities.Demonstrated leadership in defining the state of the art in TRS management along with the ability to teach and set standard practices within this field.The salary range for this position is $128k-202k. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.
