Overview: The Senior Prevention Specialist will oversee a legally compliant implementation, management, evaluation, and institutionalization of USU's system-wide student, faculty, and staff engagement programs and activities to prevent sexual misconduct and discrimination.

This position will use a strategic, proactive, and collaborative approach to lead and develop a coordinated system-wide sexual misconduct and discrimination prevention plan for students, staff and faculty. This key position will strengthen USU's approach to sexual misconduct and discrimination prevention to promote the health and safety of USU students and employees. This person will integrate and leverage the expertise of campus partners who provide: sexual misconduct and discrimination response, advocacy and support, evaluation and research.

The Senior Prevention Specialist will frequently work outside of regular business hours and some travel is required.

This position will supervise full-time Prevention Specialist staff members at the Logan, Blanding, and Eastern campuses, as well as provide oversight to peer educator teams and student interns and volunteers at those campuses.
Responsibilities: Compliance Oversight (45%) Ensure compliance with USU's student sexual misconduct prevention training requirements. Ensure compliance with USU's employee sexual misconduct reporting obligations training requirement. Ensure compliance with sexual misconduct and discrimination training requirements in relevant federal and state laws (such as Title IX, VAWA, Clery Act, and Utah campus safety bills) and university agreements (such as MOUs and resolution and settlement agreements). Ensure compliance with participation requirements for university membership in relevant national organizations and initiatives (such as NASEM's Action Collaborative on Preventing Sexual Harassment in Higher Education). Oversee and conduct respondent education in response to complaints filed with the Office of Equity and Human Resources. Staff Recruitment and Supervision (30%) Supervise full-time Prevention Specialist staff members at Logan, Blanding, and Eastern campuses, who recruit, hire, train, and supervise student volunteers, interns, and staff; manage campus partner committees and working groups; facilitate sexual misconduct, discrimination, and bystander intervention trainings for students and employees; implement communications plans and efforts for trainings; track those who have received prevention training; create student and employee training content and education materials; revise existing training and education materials; and analyze training and climate survey data. Oversee and supervise the recruitment, hiring, training, and coordination of student volunteers, interns, and/or staff, who facilitate sexual misconduct trainings for students; create student and employee training content and education materials; revise existing training and education materials; and analyze training and climate survey data. Program Development, Management, and Evaluation (25%) Institutionalize, design, and sustain a coordinated campus-wide sexual misconduct prevention strategic plan, created in collaboration with the campus-wide Implementation and Coordination Committee on Sexual Misconduct (ICC). Regularly review current data to determine prevention programming goals and priorities. Identify how staff and faculty can infuse appropriate messaging and expectations into their classrooms and departments to reinforce culture change. Oversee the implementation of sexual misconduct, discrimination, and bystander intervention trainings for students, staff, and faculty throughout the USU system. Help facilitate tracking of those who have received prevention training. Oversee the creation of a communications plan to reinforce sexual misconduct prevention and public health awareness principles that targets a diverse group of students (first-year students, student-athletes, fraternity and sorority members, student leaders, international students, etc.). Oversee the evaluation process for determining the impact of prevention programs on participants. Oversee the implementation and analysis of the student and employee sexual misconduct campus climate surveys. Identify and use evaluation data to ensure continuous quality improvement of prevention programming. Communicate evaluation data with stakeholders. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree At least two years of relevant experience. Proven ability to manage projects or programs and deliver results in a timely manner. Demonstrated experience delivering presentations and outreach activities. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Demonstrated organizational skills. Experience working with a diverse population of varying backgrounds, ages, races, nationalities, gender identities, sexual orientation, and ideologies. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree Demonstrated experience with sexual misconduct prevention. Experience applying public health theory and strategies. Knowledge of student development and learning theories and models. Experience with procedures development and implementation. Quantitative and qualitative evaluation skills. Advertised Salary: Minimum $75,000; commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits ADA: Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.
