Position Summary The Research Grant Administrator is responsible for pre- and post-award support for a portfolio of the College's departments and programs. This position will assist Principal Investigators (PIs) in the overall development and submission of comprehensive, competitive grant proposals and manage award accounts and review and reconcile financial transactions.


Required Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree Three years professional grant administration experience Preferred Job Qualifications Research administration experience in an institution of higher education Experience managing multiple, complex, and changing projects and deadlines Broad experience with a full range of federal sponsors, foundations, and industry partners Experience interpreting and ensuring compliance with regulatory policy, including Uniform Guidance, OMB Circulars, and Federal Cost Accounting Standards Experience with Kuali Financial and Research Systems and Symphony Experience with sponsor platforms such as Research.gov, Workspace, NSPIRES, and ASSIST Experience fostering cooperation among investigators, central administration, and external constituencies Ability to work collaboratively and diplomatically across a diverse range of individual needs and priorities Strong analytical skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Diversity Statement Personal or professional commitment to diversity and inclusion as demonstrated by persistent effort, active planning, allocation of resources and/or accountability for diversity and inclusion outcomes.

Duty/Responsibility Manage award accounts which include appropriated funds, intramural and extramural research funds, indirect cost returns, and other fund sources for compliance with award terms, cost accounting standards, and university, state, and federal requirements Reconcile and analyze financial transactions for authenticity and allowability, evaluate and justify expenditure re-distributions and contact appropriate entities to initiate corrections Reconcile account activity to the Kuali Financial System (KFS) and Symphony Review and approve grant reimbursement payments Analyze spending when a project is nearing completion to ensure funding is expended Assure accurate time and effort allocations and complete quarterly effort certification documentation Create and manage cost share accounts Coordinate grant staffing with the unit Human Resources Partner Forecasts future commitments and spend rates to minimize over-expenditures and advise PIs on account status, projections, and spending plans keeping them apprised of University, State, and Federal rules and regulations Assist progress and final project reports as required. Ensure all projects close on time and within budget Percentage Of Time 45

Duty/Responsibility Act as liaison between CLA and the Office of Sponsored Programs, Business and Financial Services, the Research Acceleration Office, and Foundation Relations Respond to ad hoc requests to compile and analyze data from Kuali Research, Research Analytics, and historical data to inform College strategic decision-making Create, monitor, and update record-keeping systems to enhance grant submission processes and improve future proposals Train investigators on proposal preparation/management tools (e.g., sponsor portals, KR, Symphony, SPIN/SMARTS, Grants.Gov) Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean, Research Associate Dean, Department Chairs, and Office of Sponsored Programs including but not limited to committee assignments, training, evaluations, search committees, and effective guidance in support of the College's research programs and mission Percentage Of Time 10

Duty/Responsibility Assist and guide investigators in the successful and timely submission of sponsored activity proposals Create, edit, and evaluate application packages to ensure completeness and compliance with sponsor guidelines Develop and evaluate project budgets and budget justifications in accordance with federal, University, and sponsor policies and procedures Provide investigators with feedback and guidance on proposal competitiveness Manage subrecipient collaborations with external institutions including compliancy, budgets, and proposal documentation Manage cost share commitments and indirect waivers/negotiations between departments, the College, and the Vice President for Research office (OVPR) Lead negotiation of indirect splits between CLA and other University units Coordinate proposal submissions with the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) to expedite timely submissions Organize workflow to meet multiple proposal deadlines Identify, address, and resolve issues, working jointly with PIs, administration, and other collaborators Assist and support investigators with submissions outside of sponsored activity applications including letters of inquiry, pre-proposals, budget and scope revisions, internal funding applications, submissions by other CSU units with CLA key personnel, and limited submission applications Percentage Of Time 45
