Job Description for PR , Social Media & Content Marketing Specialist Sector: Nonprofit (Veteran Services)
Reports To: President of NPLB
Category: General Staff
Status: Part-time (20 hours per week) but may lead to full-time employment
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified. Composes and edits a wide array of documents including newsletters, blogs, press releases, eblasts, website, and internal communications. Develops and posts and monitors content on social media several times throughout the week. Works closely with staff and volunteers to direct the tone and theme of the organization's content and materials. Develops and executes content for marketing collateral and campaigns. Provides guidance to other staff on content generated by the organization. Works with media outlets to promote events and develop story ideas highlighting the organization's mission. Manages multiple documents within the organization to ensure that they are relevant, up-to-date, informative, grammatically correct, and mirror the organization's style. Develops email marketing campaigns consistent with the organization's mission. Creates marketing communications campaigns focused on national outreach. Develops media plans at the local level to promote NPLB projects in the community. This includes but is not limited to: print advertising, digital advertising, editorial content in local publications, etc. Reviews outgoing content to ensure quality and brand voice. Seeks and leverages organic advertising opportunities on local and national levels. QualificationS: Military veterans, disabled veterans or immediate family members of disabled veterans strongly preferred.

Strong copywriting and editing skills required.
BA in marketing or communications preferred with a focus on writing.
Project management experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.
Ability to generate content that is consistent with the NPLB Mission and terminology.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
5+ years of experience in content marketing preferred.
Experience working with the press.
Experience with content management systems (CMS) like Word Press a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Occasional overnight travel SALARY: Paid Hourly: $20.80 - $24.20 depending on experience and qualifications. Reevaluated at 6 months based on performance. JOB BENEFITS: Paid Holidays, Vacation/Sick Time after one year of employment and Company Apparel.
