Job Description:
Marathon Petroleum is seeking a talented and hardworking PR Associate to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. As a PR Associate, you will be responsible for supporting the public relations team in various tasks and initiatives to promote the company's brand and enhance its reputation. This is a part-time position at the associate level, requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience in public relations or a related field.
Responsibilities:- Assist in the development and implementation of public relations strategies and campaigns- Draft press releases, media pitches, and other communications materials- Monitor and track media coverage and develop reports for analysis- Assist in coordinating media appearances and interviews for company executives- Support social media efforts and engage with followers on various platforms- Help organize and execute events, such as press conferences, trade shows, and community relations activities- Maintain relationships with media contacts and industry influencers- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all channels- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in public relations
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field- 3+ years of experience in public relations or a similar role- Strong writing and editing skills- Ability to work independently and as part of a team- Excellent organizational and time management skills- Proficiency in MS Office and social media platforms- Hardworking and resourceful attitude- Strong teamwork and adaptability skills- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment- Prior experience in the energy or petroleum industry is a plus
