About the College/Unit/Department: The Center for Tropical and Emerging Global Diseases (CTEGD) at the University of Georgia is one of the largest international centers of research focused on diseases of poverty. Researchers and students work together on some of the most important causes of human suffering around the world, including malaria, schistosomiasis, African sleeping sickness, Chagas disease, cryptosporidiosis, toxoplasmosis, leishmaniasis, and filariasis.

Position Summary: Study Calcium Signaling in Toxoplasma gondii. The projects involve characterization of the role of specific calcium signaling proteins in the biology of T. gondii, and their expression and further physiological characterization using heterologous systems. These projects entail collaborations and training by Calcium channel experts and global analysis of calcium triggered signaling networks.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position: PhD. in molecular biology, biochemistry or related field.Less than 4 years of postdoctoral experience or plans to graduate with a PhD by July 2023.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies : Experience with mammalian cell culture and general molecular biology and biochemical techniques. Experience with optical microscopy techniques.Good written and oral communication skills.
