Main Responsibilities of a Porter/Cook: The porter plays a very important role in preparing the restaurant for opening each day. It is the porter's responsibility to maintain the restaurant cleanliness and readiness standards. This includes preparing workstations, cooking ingredients, and kitchen equipment for cooking, stock rotation, First In, First Out (FIFO) of all inventory items, preventative maintenance of equipment, and cooking and arranging food according to food safety standards to ensure core menu items are ready to serve.
