Closing Date: March 31, 2024Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for a temporary Port Seasonal Journeyperson Electrician2024 Shipping Season; Rotation schedule will be (4) four weeks on-site and (2) two week off-siteReporting to the Port Facility SupervisorResponsibilities:Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and proceduresDemonstrate knowledge and understanding of environmental risks and hazards as well as complies with safety policies and procedures (MSHA and Red Dog EMS training) and ensures daily workplace inspections are done in order to accurately identify and correct workplace hazardsEnsure compliance with all established policies and standard operating procedures and advises Performs electrical installations, trouble shooting and repairing of electrical power systems including control circuits, variable speed drives, heat trace, cranes and switchesOperate and troubleshoot the Port power generation systemPerform preventative maintenance, and checking of pumps and ventilation systems.Maintain, installs, repairs and trouble shoots conveying systems, electric motors, power generations, lighting, electrical equipmentUtilize instrument test equipment to monitor equipment and provide maintenance recommendationsCommunicate effectively with other trade personnel, colleague and supervisor about assigned tasks and ensuring carryover and updates of completed tasks throughout the shiftEnsure all tools and equipment are maintained and kept in a clean and orderly conditionPerform other related duties as assignedQualifications:High School Diploma or GED equivalent Journeyperson Electrician with a minimum of ten (10) years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.The ability to troubleshoot simple motor control circuits, understand electrical schematics and wire diagrams, install flow pressure and level meters, PLC operational trouble shooting and utilize electrical test equipmentBasic computer skills' including proficiency with Microsoft office applications is requiredPhysically capable of performing essential functions in the electrical trade.Willing to train and mentor apprentices.Strong team player, active communication and cooperation is required.The ability to perform tasks with limited direction.Able to work safely by upholding CSL values and behaviors and follow instructions.Willing to work outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditionsAble to work day or night shifts as requiredA current valid driver's licenseAble to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) cardAbout TeckSuccessful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a physical assessment, drug screen and a background check.
