It is key for the Host/Hostess to remain positive andcourteous with each and every guest while welcoming and escorting them to the appropriatelocation/table.Specific Responsibilities:Courteously greet and escort guests to tables and assist in seating.Assist in preparing the restaurant for service and always maintaining the cleanliness of theroomMaintain positive guest relations at all timesBe familiar with the menus of the restaurant and be able to highlight items for guestMaintain complete knowledge of table and seat numbers, proper table set upsGuide servers and bus persons in table set-upBe aware of wait times and notify the guests during busy timesExtend courteous departures as guest leave to ensure the guest had a pleasant dining experienceComplete closing duties as assignedRestock suppliesCheck with kitchen to verify menu items are readily availableKeep in constant contact with the servers, manager, and the kitchen to ensure timing andfood preparation is synchronized with guest flowAll other duties as assignedReports to: General Manager or Food & Beverage ManagerOptimum Attributes:Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and tocommunicate with guests about job-related needsAbility to read, write, speak, and communicate in basic English preferredExperience in customer service is strongly preferredDetail-oriented and thorough.Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests.Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards.Customer service skills and ability to be friendly sometimes while doing other tasksVerbal communication skillsAbility to operate various operating systemsAbility to solve issues independentlyAbility to work as a teamAbility to memorize and describe menu itemsDecision making skills
