GAT Systems is looking to add a new member to the team! GAT Systems is a B2B partner in the Custom Finishing industry for over 60 years. Our current opening is for a PLC Programmer in our electrical department. The individual will support the electrical department by developing, modifying, and installing machine programs using automation software and custom coding languages. The PLC programmer will troubleshoot and provide effective solutions to clients or team members via phone or in person. The ideal candidate will have high attention to detail, posses excellent customer service skills, and be self-motivated and collaborative!

Work from home 1 day a week* Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities we are looking for: Meeting with clients and sales engineers to discuss project automation needs. Working with service technicians to test automated systems for efficiency, safety, and reliability. Designing PLC and HMI programs to industry standards. Pre-commissioning of control panels before they go out into the field. Documenting development processes. Providing clients with technical support. Troubleshooting system while providing customers with remote support. Research and Development of new systems and staying up to date on technological needs for manufacturers. Required Education and Experience: An associate degree in electrical automation or 4 years of relevant work experience is preferred. Proficient at ladder logic and function block style programming. Knowledge of manufacturing and mechanical processes. Experience with AutoCAD software is a plus. Experience with Studio 5000, Machine Expert (or Codesys variant), TIA Portal, Do-more C-more software is a plus. Strong troubleshooting capability. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Travel This role is required to travel an average of 15% of the time.
