Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Pharmacy Manager to join our Pharmacy team.
The Manager of Pharmacy will Lead and manage department staff to provide for a well-trained, motivated and committed work team. Oversee the financial management of the department, monitor and continuously evaluate quality of care provided by department and to seek out areas for performance improvement, see that high quality care is provided both in direct care personally given and through staff managed. Responsible for department compliance with safety and infection control policies / practices, and environment of care, life safety and emergency management plans. Orientation, education and training provided and documented according to policy and / or regulatory requirements.
Position Responsibilities: 
Human Resources Management -Lead and manage department staff to provide for a well-trained, motivated and committed work team
• Staff Development - Effective employee development programs are designed and in place to meet employee personal and job needs. Makes available opportunities to participate in training, activities, projects, and responsibilities that advance skills and knowledge, which enhance quality of performance on the job, while meeting personal interests and moving the department/hospital toward strategic goals
• Performance Management - Performance Management and Appraisal sys-tem is used as a tool that effectively recognizes and documents growth plans for improvement; Performance appraisals are completed consistently on time
• Department Morale - Encourages and provides specific avenues for staff participation in department problem-solving, planning and service. Deals with employee problems in a constructive manner for the good of the employee and the overall department performance. Tries to make the department a good place to work.
Financial Management
• Anticipates and plans for upcoming needs; submits timely, well documented and realistic budget based on this planning. Requests are timely, concise, complete, in proper format, and accurate with proper justification.
• Year-end financial operating results are within approved budget; variances justified and department operations adjusted throughout the year to maintain operations within budget when possible. Is proactive in establishing purchasing, program and other initiatives to achieve real savings.
• Building & Equipment requests are submitted by deadline, well and articulately justified, and with required number of bids. Anticipates current and future needs of department. Any requests submitted at other times truly could not have been anticipated.
Professional Development -Maintain and update personal skills both professional and technical as well as managerial
• Acquires knowledge & skills through formal instruction, self-training, networking, participating in programs/projects specific to the leadership, management and technical aspects of the position.
• Demonstrates through daily performance that he/she has maintained the levels of competencies needed to perform the management and technical functions of the position.
Performance Improvement/Planning Monitor and continuously evaluate quality of care provided by department and to seek out areas for performance improvement
• Data Use and Analysis:
->Department standards of performance in all critical areas are defined in writing in measurable terms.
->Appropriate and realistic performance indicators are established and monitored per defined frequency. Data on key process measures is collected on a regular basis, and valid control measures are used to keep within standards and acceptable levels.
->Problems or opportunities for improvement are identified from PI activities, time targets are set and written for achievement of solutions, solutions are achieved in a reasonable time frame.
->Evidence is provided that PI principles and processes, i.e., staff involvement, PDCA cycle, root cause analysis, data gathering and analysis, are used in the solution of the problems as appropriate. Evidence that key business decisions and plans are based on an analysis of performance data.
• Customer Satisfaction:
->Processes and methods have been designed based on a thorough analysis of customer needs and these processes are evaluated based on customer satisfaction levels.
Clinical -See that high quality care is provided both in direct care personally given and through staff managed
• Coordination of department services results in on-going measurable improvements related to physical and or psychosocial patient outcomes.
• Appropriately anticipates potential clinical problems and takes definitive steps to prevent complications.
• Recognized as a knowledgeable clinical resource.
• Arranges for patient/parent education to improve care as appropriate.
• Develops and exercises good therapeutic rapport and promotes family-centered philosophy.
• Reports and documents patient care appropriately.
• Clinical care is consistently at a high level recognizing specific age/developmental needs of the pediatric population served.

Education Bachelor in Pharmacy required
Doctorate in Pharmacy preferred 
Certification/Licensure Pharmacy license in WA preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days preferred
Compounding Sterile Preparation Training obtained through completion of a recognized course sponsored in an accredited college of pharmacy or a course sponsored by an ACPE accredited provider
Experience 4 years of health system expereince preferred
2 years of management/supervisory expereince preferred 
Other COVID-19 Vaccination required.
