PIC Job Responsibilities
Ability to understand the physical, psychosocial and spiritual concerns/problems of the terminally ill and the related pharmaceutical needs. Ability to advise Medical Director and staff regarding pain and symptom management pharmaceutical options. Ability to interpret and understand the Oklahoma Pharmaceutical Laws and Regulations. Work effectively within an interdisciplinary team. Ability to relate well with patients, families, community at large and health care professionals. Demonstrates the ability to problem solve. Enter, access and retrieve data in the pharmacy system, Computer Rx. Excellent problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize. Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain courteous and professional composure during stressful situations. Transcribe, verify, and fill prescription orders. Maintain proper storage and security conditions for medications. Some non-sterile compounding. Registered Pharmacist, current and in good standing with the State Board Pharmacist In Charge – PIC.
