We are seeking Pharmacists to join our teams across the US. The incumbent provides care of the Veterans' medical needs by performing, the incumbent performs a variety of general and specialized technical and clerical support functions in Pharmacy Service and enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of the professional staff. Processes refill requests, collates and prepares prescriptions for distribution The Pharmacist will ensure the most effective delivery of care, while meeting and exceeding compliance, Joint Commission and VA Central Office performance measure standard.
Key Responsibilities Select, procure, prepare, and dispense medications as prescribed. Review patient medical record for safety, appropriateness, and effectiveness of drug therapy. Properly store and protect drugs and Chemicals. Prepares prescription labels, selects the type of container and affixes the prescription and auxiliary labels to the container. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Other duties within scope as assigned. Job Profile Experience Required: Minimum 5 (five) years' experience as a practicing pharmacist Education Required: A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. DEA License For all grade levels and positions, applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Dental Assistant from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Current BLS certification. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred. Physical Requirements: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. May require bending, stooping and lifting to 15 lbs. Other Special Qualifications: US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required. Must relocate to project site for the duration of the contract. Pass a Child abuse and neglect check.
