PHARMACIST IN CHARGE (PIC)Join the team in our new Portal Pharmacy at Moab Regional Hospital! Portal Pharmacy, our newly completed retail pharmacy located at Moab Regional Hospital, is nearly ready to serve the community! If you re a detail-oriented, experienced retail pharmacist looking to utilize your skills and knowledge in beautiful Moab, Utah, this may be the right position for you. We are also hiring a Staff Pharmacist for the Portal Pharmacy. If you are interested primarily in the Staff Pharmacist position, PLEASE APPLY HERE. This position is a non-exempt, full-time, benefitted position.Anticipated schedule: 40 hours/week, with variable schedule to cover retail pharmacy operating hours.Starting pay range: $149,760 - $156,000 Pharmacist-In-Charge Responsibilities:Pharmacy Operations Management:Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations and compliance (including record keeping, dispensing, and labeling of medications)Stay current on federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulationsWork closely with regulatory agencies during inspections and auditsCollaborate with the pharmacy team to implement and update policies and procedures in response to changing regulations, streamline workflow for enhanced productivity, and implement/manage clinical services such as medication therapy management and immunization programsStay abreast of industry best practices and communicate changes in regulations to the teamImplement corrective actions to address identified compliance issuesConduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with pharmacy standards and regulationsTeam Leadership and Training:Conduct regular staff meetings to discuss updates, address concerns, and foster a positive and collaborative team cultureLead by example, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in customer service and clinical practiceOversee completion of pharmacy staff required training Pharmacist Duties:Pharmacy OperationsPerform day-to-day pharmacy operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with all regulatory requirementsManage inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and implement strategies to minimize waste and optimize inventory levelsCollaborate with suppliers and wholesalers to order medications, track deliveries, and maintain accurate transaction recordsUnderstand fundamentals of the federal 340B program, how to maintain compliance, and how to utilize appropriatelyMedication Dispensing/Patient CareAccurately interpret and dispense prescription medications in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, verifying prescription information for completeness and authenticityConduct regular medication reviews, including drug-drug interaction checks, and appropriate duration of therapyMaintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medication profiles and relevant documentationEnsure the confidentiality and security of patient information in accordance with privacy lawsAdminister immunizations under defined protocolsOffer personalized consultations to patients and patient s families regarding medication-related concerns, proper medication usage, potential side effects, relevant medication precautions, and recommendations for over-the-counter productsAddress customer inquiries and resolve issues related to prescriptions, insurance, and medication concerns promptly and professionallyCollaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes, ensuring comprehensive medication therapy managementProvide exceptional customer service, foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere, and promote a patient-centered approach to pharmacy servicesTraining and EducationSupervise and train pharmacy technicians and students (when applicable)Remain up-to-date on all licensure and hospital education requirementsCommunity EngagementRepresent the pharmacy in community outreach events and educational programsBuild and maintain relationships with healthcare providers and community stakeholders to promote the pharmacy s services Minimum Qualifications: RequiredGraduate of an accredited school of pharmacyCurrent, full, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in the State of UtahLicensure to dispense controlled substances in the State of UtahProvide daily consults with patients, patient s families, staff, and providersPossess excellent communication, human relation, and computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant pharmacy software)Self-motivated, able to work both independently, and as part of a teamKnowledge of or willingness to learn about financial aspects of departmental functioning PreferredThree years or more experience in a retail pharmacy settingAPhA Immunization CertificationPrior pharmacy management experience Additional Information:PIC may initially be hired as a staff pharmacist before assuming the role of PICPharmacists hired to work at Portal Pharmacy may be asked to assist in other areas of pharmaceutical care at Moab Regional Hospital Why Should You Join the Team at Moab Regional Hospital?We have an amazing team here at Moab Regional Hospital, with a skilled group of healthcare providers and physicians from a wide range of specialties who are committed to the greater Moab community.
