Reference: SAR88 Personal injury law firm seeks candidates for Legal Assistant/Paralegal position.
Job Description: The legal assistant/paralegal will work for all attorneys in the firm but will report directly to the individual attorney assigned in each case. You will be responsible for opening and maintaining paper and electronic case files, research, maintaining contact with clients throughout the case and corresponding with various attorneys and insurance adjusters. In addition, you will be responsible for drafting correspondence, demand letters, discovery, pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and on occasion medical records requests. Participate in client meetings, assist with deposition, mediation, trial preparation, and seminar presentations.
Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years' experience with the following : Advanced computer skills required including advanced functions of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Access and Adobe. Typing speed of 50+ wpm with transcription experience. Experience with case management software is a plus. Must possess the ability to maintain and organize electronic files, work independently under tight deadlines, be exceptionally organized, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work flexible hours that may include nights and weekends.
