Job Description
If you consider yourself a dynamic Payroll Specialist and are eager to develop professionally, we have an exciting opportunity with a client of ours in downtown Dallas. They are a leader in their industry who has consistently grown through strategic acquisitions. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the oversight of bi-weekly or semimonthly payroll processing for over five locations.
The ideal Payroll Specialist candidate will be able to handle payroll discrepancies, have strong customer service skills, have experience processing a high volume and understand the relationship between payroll and finance. Additionally, the Payroll Specialist should be someone who looks to improve processes in order to be most efficient.Payroll Specialist Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with all related federal and provincial legislations, corporate policies and the collective bargaining agreementsProvide payroll-related data and reports as required for decision making purposes for senior leadershipReview current payroll practices and implement training and best practices for departmentManage any payroll discrepancies as it relates and provide guidance to other team members as requiredPayroll Specialist Requirements:3+ years of progressive experience within payroll3+ years of experience working with large payroll systemsKnowledge of federal and state tax lawsExcellent customer service skills with the ability to handle and resolve employees' inquiriesExperience filing quarterly and year end taxes for the US and CanadaExperience with Delegates/ExpatriatesAbility to set up earnings and deduction codes in regard to taxingStrong verbal and written communication skills
This role has a budgeted compensation of $50,000-$65,000 commensurate with experience.
