Job Summary: The Payroll Manager will oversee and manage the payroll functions of the company, ensuring accurate processing and distribution of payroll for all employees. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and an in-depth understanding of payroll regulations and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for payroll. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors. Identify system improvements to increase departmental efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data. Handle and resolve complex employee payroll issues. Prepare reports illustrating payroll expenditures, including such items as tax payments and benefit plan disbursements. Implement and review payroll policies and procedures. Manage and mentor payroll staff, ensuring professional development and accuracy in their work. Stay informed about trends and changes in the payroll field. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in payroll management, preferably in a large, multi-state organization. Strong knowledge of payroll software, HRIS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent managerial, leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to manage and lead staff in a complex, fast-paced environment. Proven experience in payroll tax and regulatory requirements across multiple states. Benefits:
