A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A PATIENT ACCOUNTS SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE
As a Patient Accounts Services Representative, you answer and respond to inbound calls and internet inquiries from patients regarding their accounts, return patient phone calls, and follow up on verbal and electronic information. You analyze patient accounts to accurately respond to questions, resolve billing errors, and update information in the billing system. You communicate with clients and hospitals to resolve patient account issues. You answer a high volume of calls while completing department tasks. You are challenged and expected to meet performance goals.
Your communication, patient service skills, care, and compassion for others are important for the position. Your time management and multitasking skills are essential to your success. You enjoy being a part of our Patient Accounts Services team!
QUALIFICATIONS
Working knowledge of Explanation of Benefits
Proficient keyboarding skills
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Excellent time management skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as a team.
Ability to multi-task and perform in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Certification or associate degree in a related study preferred
OR
a minimum of 1 to 2 years of medical billing experience.

WORK SCHEDULE
The department schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. You must be able to work from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST.
