Position Summary:

The Patient Access Specialist I (PAS I) will check-in patient upon arrival, identify correct patient information in Hospital Systems, verify patient demographic data, and edit as needed. The PAS I will accurately identify the appropriate account for patient visit and will present and educate patients on required forms and obtain signature as required by policy and procedure. The PAS I will complete all check-in files and manage all appropriate processes specific to the patient and their visit. The PAS I will complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:
High School Diploma required.
Experience: One year experience working with health insurance required.
One year experience in patient registration in a medical environment preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Medical Terminology certification preferred.
Special Skills: Exemplary core customer service skills strongly required.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong PC skills required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Working Conditions Occasional exposure to difficult patients.
Potential exposure to blood borne and airborne pathogens.
Stress level high due to multiple demands frequently occurring simultaneously.
Physical surroundings generally pleasant and comfortable.
Most work performed while sitting, however, a moderate amount of walking and moving around within a confined area occurs.
