Our Med Techs/CNA's administer medications to residents accurately and timely. To provide quality care to all residents, recognize changes in their conditions, and to report to the licensed professional appropriately. To maintain and order the appropriate quantity of medications in a timely manner.
A Typical Day: Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document the oral, ophthalmic, and/or topical medications according to established procedures in a timely manner. Ensure that medication is ordered and reordered in a timely manner, including mail order medications. Document and report errors in the administration of medications. Adhere to the Bishop Gadsden policies and guidelines of Medication Administration. Follow facility policies and procedures regarding the destruction of medications. Note any changes in resident's mental or physical condition and communicate same to the licensed professional. Enter all pertinent information in resident's EHR as directed by the licensed professional. Maintain a friendly, productive, working relationship with other members of the Bishop Gadsden team, families, and providers. Ensure the "Missed Med Review" is completed at the end of each shift. Complete med cart audits as assigned. Attend and successfully complete, with a score of 80% or higher, annual med tech training. Assume nursing aide duties as dictated by schedule, resident needs, or as assigned. Accept other duties as assigned in a cooperative manner. What We Need In a Candidate: High school diploma or equivalent, preferred. Current SC Nurse Aide Registry C.N.A. Certification, in good standing preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age and in good physical health. Must present a professional appearance and attitude. Must exhibit consistent customer service awareness. Must demonstrate professionalism and clinical skills. Ability to read, write, speak, understand, comprehend, and communicate with older adults, peers, and supervisor. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Ability to walk, stoop, stand, bend, reach and lift (up to 50 lbs.). Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
