Tempus' proprietary platform connects an entire ecosystem of real-world evidence to deliver real-time, actionable insights to physicians, providing critical information about the right treatments for the right patients, at the right time.We're looking to build a laboratory operations team who are passionate and focused on developing state of the art techniques from sample processing to creating and interpreting vast amounts of genomic and molecular data. What You'll Do:Preparation of both unstained and routine hematoxylin and eosin stained slides from formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue blocksMaintain laboratory equipment and record maintenance regularlyApproach work with safety and diligence and follow safety requirements of the laboratoryPerform routine workflows without specific guidanceReliably produce quality finished productCollaborate with other members of the Tempus Labs teamUlitize microtome, water bath, automated stainer, automated coverslipper , tissue processors, and embedding centersCollaborate with in-house pathologists for slide quality reviewAbility to cut frozen sections using a cryostatTrack work completed using a custom Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)Work collaboratively with other members of the Histology team to accomplish daily cutting and staining deadlinesSign up for shifts as needed to support routine workflows, and when cutting stations are available(Predominantly early mornings, nights, and weekends)Qualifications:Associates or Bachelor's DegreeHT or HTL Certification preferred 1 year of cutting experienceFamiliarity with Leica equipment, manual microtomes, both Leica and Roche automated IHC staining instrumentsLaboratoryKnowledge of CAP regulationsExperience with pathology laboratory SOPs and protocolsComfort with laboratory safety and trainingDemonstrates problem solving skills in the laboratoryGood communication and organization skills#LI-Onsite
