Job summary
Provide appropriate, efficient and timely pre-hospital advanced, intermediate and basic life support careEnsure transportation of the sick and injured in accordance with local, state, national and Acadian Ambulance standards of practice

Responsibilities
• Conduct a careful examination of the patient for signs and symptoms of illness/injury• Administer basic, intermediate, and advanced life support care• Handle the patient to and from the ambulance• Efficiently transport the patient to the medical facility• Transfer patient and care information to receiving personnel at the destination• Document patient condition and treatment on EMS run reports• Conduct regular unit inventory and equipment testing• Responsible for ambulance and equipment maintenance• Operate/drive ambulance in a safe and efficient manner• Complete assigned station and ambulance duties• Train new employees and precept EMT students• Fulfill all qualifications, requirements, functions, and responsibilities of EMT-Basic and Intermediate job descriptions
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED• National and/or State certification as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic• Current CPR certification• Current ACLS certification• Current and valid state-issued driver's license• Ability to read, write, and communicate professionally• Knowledgeable of company protocols, operational procedures, and safety policies• Ability to drive large vehicles in normal and adverse conditions
