Under the direction of a certified Teacher, this position is primarily 1 on 1 support work within a Special Education self-contained setting, and will also assist with behavior and personal hygiene issues of high needs Special Education students. Must meet WA State Paraeducator requirements: At least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent,
In addition, a paraeducator must also meet one of the following:
Receive a passing grade on the Education Testing Service paraeducator assessment (ETS ParaPro); OR
Hold a minimum of an associate degree; OR
Have earned at least 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at an accredited institution of higher learning; OR
Have completed a registered apprenticeship program.
Upon hire, successful candidate must provide: A copy of a High School diploma or HS transcripts, or acceptable equivalent document.

Paid Holidays: This position is eligible for up to 12 paid holidays per year. The number of holidays depends on employee's start and end dates.
Paid Time Off: Employees working less than 12 months per year earn 7 days' worth of vacation pay per year and accrue 1 day of sick leave per month. Up to 3 days of personal leave may be granted each school year. Vacation and sick leave are based on scheduled hours and position start date.

Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee who is scheduled to work 630 hours or more in a year is eligible for benefits.
