The primary intent behind this position is to lead a team of packaging professionals, lead strategic packaging programs for a Business unit, and inspire technical ownership of end-to-end packaging from strategic development to tactical execution for the Business Unit to meet customer and consumer needs, as well as deliver financial results and optimal business solutions with winning value propositions and products.
The incumbent reports to the Brand Design & Packaging Director/or BU Packaging Team Leader and engages directly with cross functional leaders in support of Brand business plans and priorities; provides strategic Packaging leadership in a complex, matrix organization across functions, teams, and customers; spans internal and external Packaging resources.
In this role:
Manage and forecast staffing and team changes to accommodate changing workloads and project scopes - balancing FTE development and contingent workforce constraints. Talent development and supervision of Packaging Engineers and Coordinators. Best Practices identification and sharing across KCNA. Champion Packaging as a strategic business driver and its relevance to K-C challenges and growth opportunities. Demonstrate the power and value of integrated Packaging solutions for assigned brands across from strategy to execution. Oversees strategic cross-brand packaging projects and is viewed as the business Packaging leader.  Supports the execution and utilization of business practices/processes within the organization including IMF, LEAN and Portfolio Management. Budget management - Oversees team in the governance process for Pre-Press, Print Plates & Dies budget across the BU ensures that projects are prioritized properly, sanctioned and resourced. Demonstrates extensive knowledge of internal K-C packaging equipment, external vendor/copacking operations, and production capabilities, as well as supply chain processes to capitalize on cost reduction/transformation and production efficiency opportunities. Operational Excellence - Leads team in the identification of operational needs/opportunities for KCNA efficiencies. Ensures all work complies with corporate safety, regulatory, quality, and sustainability requirements, including appropriate use of patents, invention disclosures and trade secrets. Understands the consumer, customer, and competitive environment to ensure consistency and alignment with brand equity, driving category growth.  Benchmark CPG companies packaging for cutting-edge industry best practices and collaborate to share and leverage best practices across the enterprise. Understands and supports Strategic Business Plans/Annual Operating Plans for the next 1-5 years and provides technical direction/input to business plan development, capability development, and long-term strategy development About Us

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
10+ years of Packaging Engineering experience; cross-functional experience a plus Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or related degree Demonstrated accomplishments and working knowledge in Packaging Engineering preferably within the Consumer Products industry.
