Job No: 532571; 1/24/2024OUTREACH RECRUITMENT ADVISORStudent Support Services IIPaGESalary Range:$4,610 - $6,556/Monthly Work Schedule:Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; temporary appointment, expires on or before one-year from date of hire; may be extended, may become permanent; exempt classification.Essential Functions:Under the general direction of the Director of Outreach and Recruitment for the College of Professional and Global Education (PaGE), the Outreach Recruitment Advisor serves as the primary staff person to advise and recruit prospective students for the College of PaGE. The incumbent will work closely with the Director to create and implement student recruitment and outreach plans that lead to increased applications and enrollments to the College. The incumbent will communicate regularly with prospective students and student leads and provide them with knowledge about Cal State LA, admission requirements, application process, academic majors and programs, Cal State LA Downtown resources, and other pertinent information. The incumbent will represent the university at higher education recruitment events and meetings whether in-person or virtually. Therefore, travel may be required. The incumbent will also work closely with key University offices (e.g., Enrollment, Admission Office) regarding the status of applications and the tracking of applications and admissions data, as well as the Marketing and Communications (MarComm) Department in the College of Professional and Global Education regarding marketing materials, website updates, social media campaigns, and other forms of recruitment support. The Outreach and Recruitment Advisor is also responsible for tracking outreach activities and inquiries (upload and maintain CRM database of inquiries). The incumbent will assist Outreach and Recruitment with meeting enrollment goals, attending meetings and activities involving prospective students, faculty, staff, and industry partners. Coordinating strategies that assist in identifying specific target groups and target locations within the DTLA area. Other duties as assigned. The incumbent will collaborate daily with the Outreach Coordinator responsible for supporting Outreach and Recruitment.Required Qualifications & Experience:Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year- for- year basis. A master's degree in a job- related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience. Equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth; tracking student outreach efforts and linking ROI to outreach plans; and knowledge of and experience with university admissions. The incumbent must have effective communication, both written and oral. The incumbent must have demonstrated outstanding customer/student service. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the California State University.
