Opus Self-Publishing Manager

The Opus Manager is responsible for all aspects of P&P's Opus self-publishing program acting as a one-stop-shop for clients looking to self-publish. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position located at the Connecticut Ave. location that reports to the Adult Floor Director.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Overseeing the publication of Opus self-published books, from initial client interaction to finalized productFormatting, typesetting, and designing interiors and covers of Opus self-published booksDesigning custom graphics for Opus self-published books as needed including maps, charts, graphs, etc.Preparing formatted manuscripts and cover designs for printManaging inventory and consignment for Opus titlesWorking with other P&P departments to promote the Opus programMaintaining the administrative needs of the department including drafting monthly sales reports, calculating author royalties, and envisioning future plans for expanding the programPlanning, organizing, and hosting the annual Opus Author EventAssisting on the sales floor as needed during high volume timesRequirements:
Competency with the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)Understanding of core design principles, especially typographyAbility to work independently on multiple, deadline-driven projects at onceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organization and prioritization skillsExcellent customer service skillsAttention to detailComfortable learning new technologyAbility to lift and carry at least 40 lbs.
